Updates will follow shortly…
Couple of quick casting notes for you today. First up, Working Title yesterday paid a lot of money for a pitch from Allan Loeb to write an as-yet untitled comedy for Ryan Reynolds. The film is a “dude-in-drag romantic comedy, with Reynolds playing a jilted lover who must disguise himself as a woman and befriend his ex in order to win her back.” Had to happen sooner or later, really. All manly actors have to prove their mettle not by blowing away a bunch of other manly actors, but by wearing a dress. But if Wesley Snipes can do it, and Terence Stamp can do it, then why not Ryan Reynolds? Watch this one as a double-feature with Buried to see just how much range Reynolds has got. [Variety]
Ryan might have a new role, nothing confirmed but read below for more info…
Earlier this year, before we knew that he would be starring in Wichita, Tom Cruise had about 7 potential projects lined up. One of them was Motorcade, an action thriller about a disgraced Secret Service agent who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time when the president’s motorcade is commandeered by terrorists in New York (it was originally set in Los Angeles). Variety reports that the project is switching actors – Cruise is out, Ryan Reynolds is in – and directors as well. Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman is being replaced by Jon Cassar, best known for directing over 50 episodes of Fox’s series “24″.
DreamWorks is hoping to get this into production by late summer or early fall 2010. Reynolds is not signed on, but they’re “eying” him, which I’m assuming means attempting to get him to join and looking at his schedule for Green Lantern (which is set to start shooting early next year as well). The story was originally conceived by Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell with Billy Ray (Breach, State of Play) currently writing the script. This project has been a priority for DreamWorks and was one of Cruise’s top picks when he was still attached with Wiseman. Although with Ryan Reynolds instead, I’ll admit that this sounds just as enticing.
Green Lantern release date set for Ryan Reynolds film
Green Lantern’s release date has been announced, with Ryan Reynolds as the star. Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern sounds like a great match on paper, and after his turn in the X-Men series, it seems Reynolds is made for this world of films. With the starring role in Green Lantern though, Ryan Reynolds could be placing himself squarely on the A-list of actors.
The Green Lantern release date is scheduled for June 17, 2011, so it is still a bit of a ways off, but that doesn’t mean the buzz can’t get started. The film is supposed to go into principal photography and begin shooting within about four months, and that will give producers plenty of time to create an epic super hero film. Green Lantern always seemed like one of those super hero movies that couldn’t be made into a live action version, but it seems they are about to make it a reality.

Ryan has admitted that he doesnt look at his fansites anymore. From what he found i dont blame him
Ryan Reynolds has revealed that he stopped reading his own fansites after coming across galleries that contained disturbing pictures of him.
The X-Men Origins: Wolverine actor admitted that he used to get carried away looking at sites dedicated to his career, but has now been put off, Contactmusic reports.
He explained: “I have [read about myself online] before. It’s a horrible thing to do. It’s been a great equaliser because the last time I did, I found a couple of websites that are real.
“One was ‘Make Ryan Reynolds Your Biatch’. I didn’t get into it too much because I know there are going to be photoshopped pictures of me with a ball gag and nipple clamps.”
